Slitting

Slitting is a key converting process in BOPP packing tape production. After coating, drying and rewinding, large jumbo rolls are cut into narrower rolls according to the required tape width and finished product specifications.

Precision slitting helps ensure accurate tape width, smooth roll edges and consistent appearance. Stable cutting performance is especially important for high-volume production, as it helps reduce material waste and maintain uniform quality across each finished roll.

During the slitting process, jumbo rolls can be converted into different widths and lengths for carton sealing, e-commerce packaging, industrial packing and custom printed tape applications. Common sizes such as 24 mm, 36 mm, 48 mm, 60 mm and 72 mm can be produced according to customer requirements.

Proper tension and blade control also help prevent edge damage, telescoping and uneven winding, ensuring smooth tape dispensing during manual or automatic packaging use.
